使用路沿石石材制作的薄板来进行园林地面或是屋面瓦的铺设，可以给人一种古朴自然的感觉，然后如果在室内也装饰一些墙面装饰的话，就会给人一种返璞归真的效果，现在很多仿古建筑中都用到了路沿石,但是路沿石板石材表面不能打磨，也不可以承受重的东西，所以大家要小心维护。

1.人员组织。为了保证石牌楼的百年大计，应该组织富有石牌楼施工经验、工作认真负责的施工队伍。其中包括：经验丰富的选料人员、耐心细致的放线人员，技术过硬的雕刻人员，胆大稳妥的安装人员。各部人员都要按照设计要求，有条不紊的做好自己所负责的各项工作。

5.构件包装。将构件平放在托板上用塑料薄膜包好，然后用粗铁丝打摽拴牢，打摽数量根据构件的长度而定，同时在打摽铁丝与构件接触之处垫上一块废轮胎，以防伤到构件。有雕饰的大型构件用塑料薄膜包好使用木条箱包装，包装时要固定稳妥，放平挤实。
